Deep Bowl

This wonderful deep bowl was made by a Santa Domingo artist in the traditional coil style. After being fired outdoors it was polished with a smooth stone and then painted with smooth slip to create the pattern. A final firing is then needed to preserve the finish. During this process breakage is very common.
